MINDNEVER MP3 PRAYER 2.0 DOCUMENTATION

My dear user, You'll find here, in front of You, the best MP3 player ever written for AMIGA computers. This is just a preview version ( unregistered ) in which you won't be able to use some of the important functions and options. Now, please give me some motivation to keep up my work and develop this player So, I would be very grateful for any registration I get. I was very sad because my friends with PCs had all those nice MP3 players, with many skins for it, so I decided to take one step ahead and create a player with a possibility to make it's own look and which is not limited in any way. Beside this player, you'll get a little gift, a free "robe" files, drawn by my dear friend Jelena. As I was developing this code I added more and more functions, and this is the final result of that work. On a first quick view, you will realize that you have one mighty player which exceeded all limits of nowdays players, and also with it's features and designs. With this player, you will have an option to make it's look just like ( for example ) winamp on PC. It is written to spend less off the processors time then all those before. If some of you courage me and donate PPC ( he he ) , soon there will be an PPC version of the program.

This preview is beta. I am not taking any responsibility of any damage made on your files or data or machine or audio equipment. But then, I would be very happy if you would notice me of any bugs so that next version can be much better and more powerful. I'm living in a country in which the programs are rarely registered, and where pirated software rules, but I an counting on all those good people that will register this program and give me the possibility to develop it.

Installation and requirements

installation is more then simple. You just have to start the installer utility and it will work for it self. For all those masochists you can always install it by hand ( as all the rest stuff - he he ).

Program requirements:

el. Power ( which is very rarely to have here in my country nowdays )

Amiga based computer or compatible ( for example UAE )

3.0+ version of Operating System

020+ CPU, but I recommend you 030/50, or even 040/40 or 060 for complete enjoy .

popupmenu.library, triton.library, reqtools.library and mpega.library

From my own experience, I can tell you:

030/50 can play mp3 audio on 22khz mono, medium quality,
040/40 can play mp3 audio on 22khz stereo, full quality,
060/50 can play it at 44khz stereo, full quality (as long as you have required display output for such high output rate)

Features

As I was already saying, 'looks' (Robes) are not fixed neither by their size, nor their number of functions. For example, some of the 'Robes' can have buttons just for playing the music, and some of them can have all of the functions on the very same window. So I won't describe all this functions for each 'Robe', just all of the functions in global.

It can play mp3,mp2 and mp1 files, and with little help of 'plug-ins' it can play Wave ((c) by Microsoft) RIFF files, anything that OS 'datatypes' can play, and CDDA audio stream directly from CD-ROM device (if CD-ROM supports reading of RAW data).
It can display name of current song, groups, albums (taken from mp3 'TAGS' - or if they do not exist, al little bit of artificial intelligence will try to guess the name of song and it's artist from the filename.
It can display current time, and total time of file which is playing.
It can display Vu meters (output power-meters) in arbitrary shape and orientation.
It supports following functions: Play, Stop, Prev, Next, Pause, List, Activating timer, Tuning of Sleep Mode, Adding and removing file(s) from the lists, loading and saving complete play lists, changing the current position in file which is playing, setting of output volume.
From different play-modes Prayer supports:
- RND - plays randomly chosen files from play-list.
- SINGLE - repeats current file all the time.
- SLEEP - Activates sleep timer which turns off playing after certain ( user adjustable ) time.
- PROGRAM - which plays files from the list by selected order.
Making it's own look with some help from special compiler for Robe files. (this compiler will be available only to registered users)

These are the features that can be used in preview version. All other options will be available for the registered users soon.

Preferences Window

MPEG2&3 LAYER:

MODE - Mono or Stereo Mode

FREQUENCY - 11, 22 or 44Khz

QUALITY - LOW, MEDIUM or HIGH

AUDIO DRIVER:

selects output audio driver

VISUAL:

ROBE - chose your own robe (look) of the player
SCREEN - Selects the public screen where you would like Prayer windows to appear.
PRECISION - Robe images re-map precision:
NOREMAP - Do not re-map images at all,
EXACT - Higher image re-mapping precision
IMAGE - Medium precision
GUI - The worst precision.

PLUGINS:

Field for adding and removing plug-ins.

HOTKEYS:

Definition of various hot-keys.

My name is Tamara Cetinjski, born in Zrenjanin. I lived there for 18 years and then, when my parents found jobs in Novi Sad I moved with them. I am amused with computers since I was little. I've got my firs Amiga when I was 16. Then I realized that I really like programming on Amiga!! Luckily here in Novi Sad, I run into two guys that are working an Amiga, and they was so great to offer me to join their computer group called MINDNEVER. Now I am one proud member of it. They gave me the information of computer scene, and I find it very interesting. I haven't been on any 'scene' party before, but I hope ( if they repair our bridges ), that I will come more often to Belgrade in future.

First of all I have to say special thanks to the members of my group, because they were so great to me and helped me when I needed their help. And I have to admit that I was really pain in the ass sometimes.

Mr_W - He helped me by writing plug-ins, and with making Prayer functional. I am very happy that I know such first-class programmer.

rUDY- He was beside me in the toughest moments, while the bombs were falling on my lovely city, and I thanks him because he was so kind to draw and design robe files. I hope that he will continue his work as he did till now.

Future:

The future of my country is not very bright. Without your support, my effort was useless ! As you already realized, this program is ShareWare. You could make a chance for me to keep up my work on my Prayer if you would register this program, and that would mean a lot to me. The price for registration is more than symbolic, compared to what you'll get with this Prayer. The price is 20DM or 20$ and it will give me a great support to get over this bad and hard situation that is in my country. If you are not familiar with the situation in my country- here was WAR recently - lots of things are destroyed, and don't exist anymore , and the music is the thing which should connect the people and not to separate them.
